Set Your Mind
Because of the times that we live in, I am often asked what Aglow’s stance is in the midst of what looks like the redefining of society. To know where we stand, you can read our Core Values. Our stance will always align with Biblical values. Those values are fixed and cannot be redefined.
Our God who never changes, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever has forever fixed Himself to be the anchor in our lives. He is immovable and not tossed about by the whims of society.
As I pondered the past year, I thought of a blog I wrote several years ago and with a few edits, I would like to submit it to you again today:
Cultural Vacuum
We are living in times when many of the “norms” or “accepted ways of conduct” we have known in the past have changed, some radically so. “Christian morality is being ushered out of American social structures and off the cultural main stage, leaving a vacuum in its place – and the broader culture is attempting to fill the void. Barna reveals growing concern about the moral condition of the nation, even as many American adults admit they are uncertain about how to determine right from wrong. Do Christians see truth and morality in radically different ways from the broader public, or are they equally influenced by the growing tide of secularism and religious skepticism?” (The End of Absolutes: America’s New Moral Code. Research Releases in Culture & Media – May 25, 2016)
While the quote gives reference specifically to America, I would add that, in a broader sense, much of Western Civilization finds itself in a similar vacuum.
Much of the current day atmosphere has a sense of insanity to it – everything from cancel culture, to critical race theory, to possible voting fraud, and other agendas fill the news cycle.
Globally, we can quickly let our minds scan the world, bringing to our awareness the multiplied crises that are taking place and our hearts are stirred. One can feel helpless and powerless; as we watch things seemingly spin out of control.
It is in these predicted times, that our hearts must be settled and remain unshaken, since “we have received a Kingdom which cannot be shaken,” as stated in Hebrews 12:28
An Unshakable Consecration to God
I think of Daniel, a young man who was likely from an upper-class family in Jerusalem, then suddenly deported to Babylon and serving in Nebuchadnezzar’s court. Life had radically changed for him. Nothing about his current day surroundings was the same. A way of life he had known and loved and had probably envisioned for his future had suddenly changed. His future now looked very different. It must have been a shock to his well-laid plans. Yet even in the midst of what felt like upheaval and turmoil, Daniel would one day be an advisor to foreign kings!
Daniel had made an unshakable consecration and commitment to God and His people that would be tested. From his decision not to eat the king’s food to the refusal to bow to the image of the king, Daniel and his friends displayed an uncompromising spirit. That test would reveal the ultimate power and authority of God on their behalf.
“We cannot be subject to the insanity of the world. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” I Cor 3:19
It is the wisdom of God that will settle your heart. It is the wisdom of Heaven that sees everything from an eternal point of view. His wisdom sees everything in focus.
Daniel said, “Blessed be the Name of God forever and ever: for wisdom and might are His.” He had settled it in his heart. He knew who God was. He had a Majesty mindset!
Set Your Mind
A helpful way to set your mind is found in Colossians 3:1-3. It speaks to your new stature and your new persona.
If then you were raised with Christ,
Seek those things which are above
Where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Set you mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
God intends that we be so established and stabilized by Heaven’s eternal perspective that we live on earth in a way that brings His peace and speaks His wisdom into every situation. When we are established in Him, our hearts will be fixed and we will be unshakable in our faith, just like Daniel.”
I want to encourage you to keep your mind set on God. No matter the circumstances you may find yourself walking through, He goes before you, He walks with you, and He comes behind you. He is the same yesterday, today, forever. He is Faithful. Trust Him.

Firme Sua Mente
Devido à época em que vivemos, muitas vezes me perguntam qual é a postura de Aglow em meio ao que parece ser um momento de redefinição da sociedade. Para saber no que nos firmamos, você pode ler nossos Valores Fundamentais. Nossa postura sempre estará alinhada com os valores bíblicos. Esses valores são fixos e não podem ser redefinidos.
Nosso Deus, que nunca muda, que é o mesmo ontem, hoje e para sempre, fixou-se para ser a âncora em nossas vidas para sempre. Ele é imutável e não pode ser abalado pelos caprichos da sociedade.
Enquanto refletia sobre o ano passado, pensei em um artigo de blog que escrevi há vários anos e, com algumas edições, gostaria de enviá-lo novamente hoje:
Vácuo Cultural
Estamos vivendo em uma época em que muitas das “normas” ou “formas de conduta aceitas” que conhecemos no passado mudaram, algumas radicalmente. “A moralidade cristã está sendo conduzida para fora das estruturas sociais americanas e para fora do palco cultural principal, deixando um vácuo em seu lugar – e a cultura em geral está tentando preencher o vazio. Barna revela uma preocupação crescente com a condição moral da nação, mesmo com muitos adultos americanos admitindo que estão incertos sobre como determinar o certo do errado. Os cristãos veem a verdade e a moralidade de maneiras radicalmente diferentes do público em geral, ou são igualmente influenciados pela crescente onda de secularismo e ceticismo religioso? ” (The End of Absolutes: America’s New Moral Code. Artigos de pesquisa em cultura e mídia – 25 de maio de 2016).
Embora a citação faça referência especificamente aos EUA, eu acrescentaria que, em um sentido mais amplo, grande parte da civilização ocidental se encontra em um vácuo semelhante.
Grande parte da atmosfera dos dias atuais tem um senso de insanidade – tudo, desde a cultura do cancelamento até a teoria crítica racial, a possibilidade de fraude eleitoral e outras agendas preenchem o ciclo de notícias.
Globalmente, podemos permitir que nossas mentes explorem o mundo rapidamente, trazendo à nossa consciência as crises multiplicadas que estão ocorrendo e nossos corações estão agitados. Podemos nos sentir desamparados e impotentes; enquanto observamos as coisas aparentemente saindo do controle.
É nestes tempos profetizados, que nossos corações devem ser firmados e permanecer inabaláveis, visto que recebemos “um Reino que não pode ser abalado”, conforme declarado em Hebreus 12:28.
Uma Consagração Inabalável a Deus
Eu penso em Daniel, um jovem que provavelmente era de uma família de classe alta em Jerusalém, então, repentinamente exilado para a Babilônia e servindo na corte de Nabucodonosor. A vida mudou radicalmente para ele. Nada em seu ambiente atual era o mesmo. Um modo de vida que ele conhecia, amava e provavelmente imaginou para seu futuro mudou repentinamente. Seu futuro agora parecia muito diferente. Deve ter sido um choque para seus planos bem traçados. Mesmo assim, mesmo em meio ao que parecia ser uma convulsão e turbulência, Daniel um dia seria um conselheiro de reis estrangeiros!
Daniel fez uma consagração inabalável e um compromisso com Deus e Seu povo que seria testado. Desde sua decisão de não comer a comida do rei até a recusa em se curvar à imagem do rei, Daniel e seus amigos mostraram um espírito intransigente. Esse teste revelaria o poder e autoridade finais de Deus em seu favor.
“Não se enganem. Se algum de vocês pensa que é sábio segundo os padrões desta era, deve tornar-se ‘louco’ para que se torne sábio. Porque a sabedoria deste mundo é loucura aos olhos de Deus. Pois está escrito: “Ele apanha os sábios na astúcia deles’;” 1 Cor 3:18,19
É a sabedoria de Deus que vai firmar seu coração. É a sabedoria do Céu que vê tudo de um ponto de vista eterno. Sua sabedoria vê tudo em foco.
Firme Sua Mente
Uma maneira útil de firmar sua mente é encontrada em Colossenses 3: 1-3. Ele fala sobre sua nova estatura e sua nova personalidade.
Portanto, já que vocês ressuscitaram com Cristo,
procurem as coisas que são do alto,
onde Cristo está assentado à direita de Deus.
Mantenham o pensamento nas coisas do alto, e não nas coisas terrenas.
Pois vocês morreram, e agora a sua vida está escondida com Cristo em Deus.
Deus deseja que sejamos estabelecidos e estabilizados pela perspectiva eterna do Céu para que vivamos na Terra de uma forma que traga Sua paz e transmita Sua sabedoria em todas as situações. Quando estivermos estabelecidos Nele, nossos corações estarão firmes e seremos inabaláveis em nossa fé, assim como Daniel. ”
Quero te encorajar a manter sua mente voltada para Deus. Não importa as circunstâncias pelas quais você se encontre caminhando, Ele vai antes de você, Ele caminha com você e Ele te cerca. Ele é o mesmo ontem, hoje, para sempre. Ele é fiel. Confie nele.

It’s ministries like this one that truly, brings the depth and heights of God’s word and his wisdom, to help enhance that which we already know as the truth!!!, to help deepen and extend the foundation of righteousness all ready established in our hearts, thank you sssooo much , mother of the lord , continue to be the glowing of burning oil that you are , send the hot coals as you get them, from prophet Thomas Llewellyn from fort myers florida, grace and peace to you, I will avail my self to you and thus marvelous ministry as needed, it would be an honour!!!!!
